Program Description

Whether Shakespeare himself ever visited Italy, many of his plays have Italian settings, and the locations that he wrote about correspond closely with the dramatic texts. The itinerary will include the Verona of Romeo and Juliet, the Venice of Othello, Desdemona, Portia and Shylock, the Florence of Bertram and Helena, and the Rome of Julius Caesar. This is a chance for students to earn up to six hours of credit AND to travel to Shakespeare's Italy. Anyone interested, including non-students and family members will also be welcome to join the group.

Non-US passport holders should consult with the faculty leader PRIOR to enrolling to discuss potential visa issues.
