Students need to pay tuition for the six credits. Students taking 6 credits in the summer are eligible for financial aid loans--- including program costs.
Estimated Costs: $3875 A $300 non-refundable deposit is required with your application. Applications will be taken until the program is filled. The balance will be due April 1. Please apply as early as possible.

Program Description

This 6 credit hour study abroad course will include 24 days of travel to Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain and France. Course is paired with a similar course offered through Shippensburg University. Students will visit such sites as: European Parliament, NATO headquarters, the International War Crimes tribunal, and the International Red Cross. For this history component, students will visit historic sites and have on site lectures in Rome, Florence, Athens, Paris, Brussels, and Barcelona. The rigorous academic component features online readings, lectures, quizzes and essays. Students complete an academic journal and write a research paper. Fees for the trip include all housing, transportation, entrance fees and some meals.

Dr. Sally Brasher, associate professor in the Department of History at Shepherd and director of the honors program, and Dr. Niel Brasher, professor in the Department of Political Science at Shippensburg University, will conduct the program. The Brashers have led more than 10 different university groups to Europe.
